ROAR
(Rotarians of Amateur Radio)

Thetford Rotarians have always known that their webmaster has had an unfashionable interest in what can be described as "radio".  Marian has tolerated magpies' nests of aerial wires  strung on the roof of the house as a consequence of an obsession that became manifest in him in the 1950s following a visit to Stockport market and the purchase of the components for a crystal set.

Bill however is just one of a group of Rotarians who use amateur radio communication to enhance relationships between clubs both in RIBI and in RI.  ROAR have been meeting regularly for very many years to exchange news about what their different clubs have been up to each week.  They exchange ideas both about running their clubs and how the experiences of one club may help the other clubs.

Until now it has been impractical for Rotarians without amateur radio equipment to listen in to these exchanges.  However with the advent of the internet and Software Defined Radio anyone with a PC can now do so.  How to do so is simple.  Clicking on the logo below will show you how to listen in to this "nerdy group of geeks" who sit amongst you at Rotary meetings have an interest in both "Radio and Rotary"
